  • Mouse Layout

    • The light beam is pointed at a key and the key or function is output to a host. When the light beam is moved over the keys each key lights up as it sees the light beam, if the light beam is stopped over a key a delay starts, when the delay is finished, a beep sounds and the key is sent to the computer. If during the delay time the light beam is moved to another key then nothing is sent to the computer. The delay must time out to input a key. All controls for the keyboard can be adjusted by the operator with the light beam. Like the beep can be turned off, and the delay can be adjusted to fit each user either longer or shorter.
    • The light beam can be held it the operators mouth, or attached to a head ban, finger, toe, shoulder or anything the user can move.
  • Light Key keyboard operation

  • Keyboard Keys

    • Keys A-Z - When regular keyboard keys detect a light beam they input the same as a regular PC keyboard.
    • Shift Key - When the shift key detects a light beam the next key detected is shifted to the second function to the upper left on the key, if a letter key is selected then the letter is shifted to upper case and then the Shift key is reset to allow lower case or normal characters to be sent.
    • Caps Lock - When the Caps Lock key detects a light beam the all of the rest of the keys are shifted to upper case or if they have a key function in the upper right of the key that function is input. When the caps lock key is selected the LED at the Caps Lock location will light and will remain lit until the Caps Lock key is selected again.
    • Enter Keys - There are two Enter keys, both do the same function. They are there to only allow Enter when a user is selecting for either the left or right side of the keyboard.
    • Speaker Key - When selected allows the user to increase, decrease or turn off the beep from the speaker.
    • Copy - After selecting a section of text or an object with the Mouse function the Copy key can be selected to remember the selection.
    • Paste - After text or an object is selected with the Copy key it can be inserted back by selecting the Paste key.
    • Fast Key - is used to speed up detection time from the key Light coming on until the selected key is input. As a user gets more familiar with Light Key the user can adjust Light Key faster to increase his or her typing speed. In operation each time the Fast Key is selected the selection time decreases in steps, so to get a very fast selection time will take multiple selections.
    • Slow Key - is used to decrease the detection time of the key Light coming on until the selected key is input. This is very helpful in places where more than one user is using Light Key. If a previous user has used Light Key more and is faster at typing then the newer user can with the selection light beam slow down the detection for them to learn typing with Light Key easier. In operation each time the Slow Key is selected the selection time increases in steps, so to get a very slow selection time will take multiple selections.
  • Mouse Keys

    • LC Key - Is left click, when this key detects a light beam it will input a left click to the computer the same as a standard computer mouse.
    • DC Key - Is double left click, when this key detects a light beam it will input a double left click to the computer the same as a standard computer mouse. The timing interval is between the click are fixed by the keyboard and not by the user so a correctly timed double let click is input to the computer.
    • RC Key - Is right click, when this key detects a light beam it will input a right click to the computer the same as a standard computer mouse.
    • Mouse Arrow Keys - The mouse arrow keys show the direction the cursor will move when selected. When a arrow key detects the light beam the cursor is moved first starting slow for finer selection on the monitor then the movement speed increases to facilitating rapid traverse across a monitor.
    • SF Key - This is the start fast key and when the start fast key detects a light beam and the delay times out to select it the next key must be an arrow key, when the light beam is then moved over an arrow key and the delay times out that arrow key will start moving the cursor at a fast rate until the light beam is moved away from the arrow key and being not selected the start fast key will be reset to normal. Then if the user moves the light beam over an arrow key to select it that arrow key will start slow to allow a fine movement selection so you can select an object, text or line. A user can use this key to first move the cursor quickly across the monitor.
    • Drag Key - To move an object or icon on a monitor display one of the arrow keys positions the cursor over an object then when the Drag Key detects a light beam and a left click is sent and appropriate other signals by Drag Key to enable moving the object, then one of arrow keys is selected and detects a light beam and the object is moved in the direction of that arrow, then by moving the light beam away from the arrow key to deselect it the object stops in position and the Drag Key is reset. OFF/ON - If a user is leaving a computer the ON/OFF key is selected to turn off Light Key keyboard. If the light beam is battery powered then it can select the ON/OFF key to turn on Light Key, if not the keyboard must be plugged into the computer and Light Key will be turned on.
