How Do I Erase Messages on a QuickTalker FT

To erase the current level

Press and hold the record button for about 10 seconds. You should hear the QuickTalker beep. This will erase the current level Individual Message Locations, but not the Core Message Locations.

To erase all messages

Press and hold the record button for 30 seconds. You will hear a set of beeps after 10 seconds, continue to hold the record button.
After 30 seconds, you will hear the second set of beeps, you can let go of the record button. This will erase all messages on all levels including the Core Message Locations.

Can you add an external switch or operate a toy/appliance with the QuickTalker FT?

No, the QuickTalker FT 7, 12 and 23 do not have input or output for external equipment. If you require this functionality, we’d recommend reviewing the SuperTalker FT as a suitable option.

How long is the total recording time on the QuickTalker FT?

Total recording time across all the levels:

QuickTalker FT 7- 6 minutes of total record time
QuickTalker FT 12- 12 minutes of total record time

Do the top 3 message cells change with different levels on the QuickTalker FT?

The top 3 messages are core messages that remain the same through all levels.

Why can’t I change levels on the QuickTalker FT?

It’s likely the lock feature has been enabled. To enable/disable the lock feature press and hold the Record and Level buttons at the same time for 5 seconds. When activated/deactivated you should see all the LED’s flash twice, then turn off.

Why does the QuickTalker FT LED alternate flashing between red and yellow two times and not play my message?

This is typically related to an issue with the battery installed in the QuickTalker FT. The battery may be low or depleted or you are using a battery labeled “Heavy Duty”, “Industrial Grade” or “ProCell”. These types of batteries handle power differently than regular alkaline batteries, and when used in our devices respond similar to low/dead batteries. We recommend using a regular alkaline battery to avoid any issues with recording or playing messages. Replace your battery and try to use it again. If the problem persists contact Tech Support for further assistance.

Why can't record a new message on a QuickTalker FT?

QuickTalker FT allows message records by entering recording mode. This process is fully detailed on the label on the back of the device as well as the product's QuickStart Guide.

If you are unable to record a message, here are some common reasons to review:

The device may be locked. To enable/disable the lock feature, press and hold the Record and Level buttons at the same time for 5 seconds. When activated/deactivated, you should see all the LED’s flash twice, then turn off.

The memory may be full or corrupted. (The record indicator lamp lights up orange). To erase all messages and clear the memory, press and hold the record button down for 20-30 seconds. When the device has fully erased, you will hear 2 short beeps indicating the process completed.
