The cord that connects the mic to an amplifier plugs in at both ends. At the amplifier end it has a right angle bend and strain relief to maximize durability. At the mic end, it can be unplugged so that If the cord does break, the user can purchase a new cord and plug it in - no need to send in for repair. For adult heads - will not adjust to child size.
