Description

Developed by MIT Media Lab, E-ink e-ink technology is an excellent ambient light-reflective display technology. It drives the movement of charged ink droplets in the microcapsules by voltage, making them arrange in an orderly manner to form a picture. E-ink e-inks do not glow and display as well as traditional printed paper, also known as "Electronic Paper Display, EPD".
Dasung Electronic Paper Display

DASUNG's 3rd Generation E-ink Monitor-Paperlike 3 (Paperlike HD), 13.3" E-ink Screen (Carta & Flexible), 2200*1650 Retina Display. Just Like a Real Paper. Fast nearly as LCD. No Back Light. No Blue Light. No Screen Flash. You can Type, Code, Browse the Web, etc. Work well with any Equipment (HDMI). Support PC/ Mac/ iPhone/ iPad and so on. It is the best monitor to protect your eyes.

The Paper Like 3 HD by Dasung is an auxiliary computer monitor that protects your eyes - the first of its kind with E-Ink technology. It displays information like a piece of paper instead of emitting a harsh backlight so you can work longer without eye pain, fatigue, or headaches caused by traditional monitors. Until now E-Ink has been limited to E-book readers. Paper Like is designed specifically as a computer monitor with a full 13.3" screen and quick speeds so you can type, code, browse the web and more. Just plug it into your computer with the included USB cable to mirror or extend your screen. It doesn't need a power cord or battery, so you can take it anywhere you go.

PROTECT YOUR EYES: The Dasung Paperlike HD Series helps protect your eyes from Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). The monitor doesn't emit a harsh backlight that can lead to eye issues, headaches, and insomnia. With Dasung's E-ink Monitor, your eyes will be protected while writing code or browsing the internet. It can be a replacement for computer glasses that ease eye strain. In the information age, we look at our computers and smartphones for more than 12 hours a day. The LCD displays greatly impact our eyes and overall health. Bright light and screen flash can cause dry eyes, inflammation, nearsightedness, dizziness and headache, which is called Computer Vision Syndrome. We urgently need a paper-like screen to save our eyes. Unlike emissive displays, like LCD, where backlight is projected onto your eyes, E-ink display reflects ambient light from the environment. Being similar to ink on paper like real ink and E-ink helps eliminate eyestrain.

E-Ink comparison with LCD monitor

EASY SETUP: The Paperlike HD Series is easy to set up. It includes a HDMI and USB cable that plugs directly into your computer or laptop, and also a stand. The HDMI connection transmits the display, while the USB connection powers the monitor. No power cord or battery is needed because it draws power directly from the USB cord plugged into your device. The Paperlike HD Series works with Windows, Mac (OS X 10.11 or higher), Linux, Ubuntu, iPhone, and iPad.

NO GLARE: The Paperlike HD Series is perfect for outdoor environments or high glare situations. With Dasung's Carta e-ink monitor, gone are the days of tilting or shading your monitor at the perfect angle to view the screen. This creates better sunlight readability and more productivity with your e-ink monitor while outdoors. The device also works great in low light settings. There are different display modes that you can toggle between to meet your specific preference.

E-ink Technology: DASUNG’s E-ink monitor has retina display, high contrast, fine quality, no flashing and no glare. It’s the perfect eye-saver.

TOUCH FUNCTION COMPATIBILITY: The touch function only works with Windows, Linux, and Ubuntu. The touch function of HD-FT is not compatible with Mac, but the front light will work with a Mac.13.3-size large E-ink screen

Normal monitors hurt my eyes
I'm a software engineer who has problems looking at normal monitors for too long. I get headaches and have a hard time sleeping. If I have any reading or writing to do, I'll use the Dasung e-ink monitor. The cost is high and the image is not the best. I knew all that before buying it. For what I use it for, it works great. I'm glad I bought it. I hope Dasung develops a bigger and better e-ink monitor. If they do, I'll very likely buy it. For that, I gave 5 stars.

Good product for those struggling with light
After 2 days of using dasung monitor I can say that this is a second chance for me to return the academic field. There is a long time that I left my reading habit because of problems in my eyes (sensitivity towards light). Thanks to e-ink technology, I can read and write in computer today.

Legit eink monitor
I own Onyx Max 3, I was skeptical on how fast dasung refresh rate is in videos. As a monitor Dasung is the clear winner here. Onyx Max 3 can be used as a monitor but the slow refresh rate is kind of drag and having to start the monitor app is one extra step.
I also have paper like pro. The resolution is low and need driver for mac. This version, paperlike 3 HD. Is much better. To my surprise, I have not used my regular monitor for work for a week. This is a solid product.
Besides eye protection, I feel my reading comprehension is better on eink display.
