Overview
-
The eeZee Mouse family provides an alternative method of computer access. They provide hands-free computer access for many people looking for an alternative method of computer control.
- While the concept of a “head-mouse” is not new, our approach and implementation are. We have chosen to develop an easy to operate, cost effective line of products. These Assistive Technology devices can be operated virtually anywhere the user is able to use them, from the top of the head, to the foot, and anywhere in between.
- A headmouse isn’t just for the head anymore!
- All of our computer input devices are recognized by the operating system as hardware devices. This provides a product which is platform independent, compatible with all hardware and software programs, and requires no computer processing resources that can degrade the performance of programs being ran.
- Hardware Devices
- Compatible with ALL Hardware and Software
- Uses NO computer processing resources
- Platform Independent - PC, MAC, Unix, Desktop, Notebook
- SGD - AMDi, Break Boundaries, Dynavox, Words +, Zygo

Clicking can be performed via microphone or switches, depending upon the model. All clicking is done real-time without any additional dwell or clicking software, no body or head gestures. Proprietary processes in the eeZee Mouse products interpret inputs using a Morse Code style of detection, and produce left clicks, double left clicks, right clicks, left drag and right drag from a microphone or single switch. The architecture allows us to provide options in the way the clicking is implemented, and allow the units to be tailored to the users individual requirements
- Hands-Free Design
- Virtually unlimited Mounting Positions
- Works with all existing mice, touch pads, trackballs, etc..

Operator Controls
- The first cost effective computer input product controlled by a body sensor!
Weighs less than 2 grams

-
Body Sensor
- A tiny body sensor is utilized to control the cursor movements. This is the smallest, most lightweight body sensor available.
- Motion control Sensor - A bubble level is a basic tilt sensor. An electronic tilt sensor functions like the bubble level and outputs data describing its position. As with any level, bumping or moving it will cause the bubble to move.
- A user adjustment is provided giving users the ability to set the sensitivity of the Body sensor.
- The most important thing when using a tilt sensor is to attach the sensor firmly to the activating surface (body part) and to support the cable so that it doesn’t interfere with sensor travel during operation.
- Tilt sensors are used by tilting them! As a sensor is tilted, its output changes for each position it is moved to. A typical sensor may have 2000 different outputs.
-
Characteristics of a Tilt Sensor
- Extremely accurate! The tilt sensor is reported to be the most reliable and accurate positioning system ever used in Assistive Technology computer controls.
- The sensor detects all movements. When properly installed, it can provide the user smooth cursor control with very fine resolution.
- When improperly installed, a loose sensor can rock back and forth, wobble around, or move unintentionally. These movements could translate into undesired and misunderstood cursor activity. When this characteristic is understood, proper mounting can be provided giving precise reliable performance.
- NOTE - Providing the sensor a stable mounting position is the key to successful operation.
-
Tilt Sensors are found in
- LaZee Mouse units
- eeZee BODY Sensors
-
External Home
- An input jack is provided allowing users to connect an external switch. Activating this switch will perform the same function as the Home button on top of the unit.
- (Hint: Utilize a Latch/Timer if a delay is desired after activating the switch. This will give the user a chance to reposition before the Home is locked in.)
-
OK, so how do I use this BODY Sensor to operate a computer?
- Place the sensor where it is to be worn, anywhere from head to toe! (within 60 degrees of level)
- Calibrate the sensor simply by pressing the “Home” button.
- Tilt the sensor slightly to begin moving the cursor slowly! Tilting a little farther will speed it up. Returning to home will stop moving.
-
Your body has been transformed into a joystick with fully proportional cursor movement. Cursor speed is proportional to the degree of tilt.
- Tilting Left - Moves Cursor Left
- Tilting Right - Moves Cursor Right
- Tilting Forward - Moves cursor Down
- Tilting Back - Movers Cursor up
-
Range of Motion (ROM) Control
- The user can adjust to set the desired degree of tilt needed to reach full speed.
- A small ROM will require very little movement, while a large ROM requires more.
- Moving beyond this maximum will not affect cursor speed.

eeZee Mouse Pro - Click via Microphone
- The eeZee Mouse PRO incorporates a standard 3.5mm microphone input compatible with most microphones on the market. This provides the user a wide range of selections including a standard multi-media headset, neck mic, boom mic, desktop or any number of specialty mics.
- A microphone GAIN adjustment is available to adjust for a wide range of operating environments. Sound is detected and processed inside the unit using a proprietary Morse Code style of detection. The appropriate clicking action takes place instantaneously as sounds are decoded. There is no need for add-on click/dwell programs, although they are fully compatible.
- “Training LEDs” are incorporated for user feedback. The appropriate LED blinks when a left or right click is detected and sent to the computer. These can be used when learning to operate the unit and when adjusting the GAIN setting.
- Two options for clicking are provided. A DIP switch selects between two options. Option 0 generates left and right button functions. Option 1 generates left clicks only. Option 0 provides more functionality, while Option 1 is easeir to operate. These two options combined with the “Mouse Properties” settings found in the computer’s operating system, provide nearly any operating condition that a user may need to utilize.

- (Hint - Utilize a Latch/Timer in latch mode to toggle between states. Tap switch once to mute microphone. Tap switch again to enable the mic. This gives the user a method to turn off the microphone for extended periods without having to continuously activate a switch.
- LED Intensity
- A user control is available for adjusting the brightness of the feedback LEDs.
- No microphone, switches or sensor mounting platform is included with unit. See the accessories page to select products to match your situation.
